The Clifton Gorge stretch of Little Miami River is 1.3 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Ohio and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Springfield, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The
campgrounds here at Little Miami River are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This is a very short section so no
need to bring snacks. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This is the only paddling section along Little Miami River.

is down it plunges down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Little Miami River are in the 10's.
