  The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The starting location is a short drive from Dayton, as you can see on the road map further down. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before
    you come because it is a very popular destination. The Huffman Dam stretch is the only paddling stretch along Mad River. This stretch of Mad River in Montgomery County is 0 miles long and it is classified as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater
rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other places. The beautiful scenery of Montgomery County and the water flowing gracefully down Mad River make the trip here worthwhile. This is an extremely short section so better bring some good walking shoes.
