  The scenic beauty of Green County and the cool fresh water beats anything. This stretch of Massie's Creek is 0.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling stretch along Massie's Creek. This is a very short stretch so it's not like
    you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd
better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
Going for a hike on the Orton Memorial Trail is always a wonderful adventure; there are nice sites to explore along the South Gorge Trail.
All through the summertime highs here at Massie's Creek reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Massie's Creek tend to be in the
 
10's. Massie's Creek gets a common amount of rainfall; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
