Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations     you might end up sleeping in your car. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The campgrounds here at Maumee River are pretty good. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. The Grand Rapids stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Maumee River gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month of the year is January. During the summertime here at Maumee River, high temperatures   usually get into the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Maumee River.
