This stretch of Olentangy River is 4 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Ohio and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in is not too far from Columbus, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page
    so you won’t get lost. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots
in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other spots. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect  
for a one day trip.

Briefly about the general area:
There are plenty of people from Delaware here at Olentangy River. Delaware State Park is worth a visit if you're at Olentangy River. Summertime highs at Olentangy River typically tend to be in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Olentangy River are in the 10's. Olentangy River gets a typical amount of rain. July is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
