This section of Paint Creek in Ross County is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II(III) section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Ohio and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here     more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Paint Creek Reservoir to Route 41 Bridge section is the only paddling section along Paint Creek. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Paint Creek is a good spot of normal rainfall; May is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Summertime at   Paint Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 30's while Paint Creek overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
