This section of Portage River is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're     visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The natural beauty of Sandusky County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other spots for that. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is the only paddling stretch along Portage River.
