  This section of Rocky Fork is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I section of whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Ohio are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time
    outdoors will have you coming back for more. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Hickman to Licking River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Rocky Fork. The starting location is a reasonable drive from
Mount Vernon, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Rocky Fork gets a common amount of annual rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while January is ordinarily the driest month.
At Rocky Fork through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Rocky Fork.
