This section of Straight Creek is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Ohio tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch     is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is the only paddling section along Straight Creek. The natural beauty of Brown County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: Straight Creek is a relatively wet place usually with a lot of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. Summer brings highs in the 80's   to Straight Creek, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Straight Creek dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
