The scenic beauty of Huron County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can     easily run it on an afternoon. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The Upper stretch of Vermilion River is 9 miles long and is a class I(II) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Vermilion River are pretty good. The winter comes with highs in   the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Vermilion River.
