If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oklahoma you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. This section of Bok tu kolo Creek is 9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all
set. When you're paddling down a Ouachita Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. The wonderful Oklahoma
scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Bok tu kolo Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Weyerhauser Road to Highway 259 section is the only one. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more.
