US 412 to Fidler's Bend section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II(IV) 1 miles
The beautiful scenery of Oklahoma and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you're coming from Tahlequah it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The US 412 to Fidler's Bend stretch of Flint Creek is 1 miles long and is a class II(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The US 412 to Fidler's Bend stretch is the only paddling stretch along Flint Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling
places. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is an extremely short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The beauty of the Ozarks is a great plus for this river. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
