Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oklahoma tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is wonderful. The Rd 56000 Close to Octavia to Highway 3 at North Pole section of Glover River in Oklahoma is 25 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+ section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Glover River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Rd 56000 Close to Octavia to Highway 3 at North Pole stretch is the only one.
Briefly about the general area: All the outdoors cool things in the Ouachita Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. Burks Hollow is in close proximity to Glover River and is a great place, and a trip to Glover River wouldn't be
complete without taking a look at Burks Springs. All through the warm months at Glover River highs are commonly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Glover River during the wintertime
ordinarily sink into the 20's. The high level of precipitation makes Glover River a rather wet place; most of the rain falls during May, and January on the other hand is the driest.
