The Close to Meers Cafe to Lake Lawtonka section is the only paddling section along Jimmy Creek. When you're paddling down a Wichita Mountains river like this one     you always get great scenery along the way too. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The campgrounds here at Jimmy Creek are pretty good. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The scenic beauty of Oklahoma and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
