This section of Mountain Fork in Oklahoma is 28 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II+(IV) section. The nature scenery of Polk/ McCurtain County and the water flowing gracefully down Mountain Fork beats anything. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Highway 259 Close to Hatfield Ar to Narrows above Broken Bow Lake stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Whether you're whitewater rafting or
kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and
near. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners.

generally in the 90's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows at Mountain Fork during the wintertime ordinarily plunge into the 20's.
