The beautiful scenery of Oklahoma and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Rocky Creek in McCurtain County is 3.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oklahoma is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This is the only paddling stretch along Rocky Creek. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd
better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beauty of the Ouachita Mountains is a great plus for this river. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
