Oregon whitewater - Abiqua Creek, Central Cascade Range, Marion County Marion county, Abiqua Falls to Abiqua Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     7.5 miles   If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Marion County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. If you're coming from Salem it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river     if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is the only paddling section along Abiqua Creek. The wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The Abiqua Falls to Abiqua Road section of Abiqua Creek in Oregon is 7.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: The high level of rainfall makes Abiqua Creek a quite wet place; December is the month that gets the most rain; the driest   of the months is July. Summer at Abiqua Creek comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's.
