If you're coming from Salem it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't forget     that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. This stretch of Abiqua Creek in Marion County is 7.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are no other sections to paddle along Abiqua Creek than the Abiqua Falls to Abiqua Road section.
