  The natural beauty of Oregon and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Corvallis it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Alsea River - South Fork is 6 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Hubert McBee Memorial Park to Rock Quarry Weir section is
    just one of them. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. You might have
to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.
