The scenic beauty of Linn County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.     This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Albany-Lebanon, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Calapooia River commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime   come with highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Calapooia River. Don't leave Calapooia River without first checking out Chimney Rock. All the water falling down from the sky makes Calapooia River a wet place; the month with most of the rain is November, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
