This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the McKercher Park to Brownsville stretch is just one of them.     This section of Calapooia River in Linn County is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class I section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip.
