The Confluence with Pass Creek to Steamboat Creek stretch of Canyon Creek in Oregon is 9 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way
this area has a large number of paddling places. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty decent length section, you
can easily run it on an afternoon. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The natural beauty of Douglas County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The Confluence with Pass Creek to Steamboat Creek section is the only paddling section along Canyon Creek.

through the winter the highs are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows at Canyon Creek through the winter commonly fall into the 30's. There is a magnificent hiking trail close to Canyon Creek called the Williams Creek Trail, and close by you stumble on the Mott Trail which
is a fine hiking trail. Canyon Creek is a rather wet place generally with a large amount of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest.
