The scenic beauty of Oregon and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem     but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. There are no other sections to paddle along Canyon Creek than the Confluence with Pass Creek to Steamboat Creek section. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The campgrounds here at Canyon Creek are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Williams Creek Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Canyon Creek; Mott Trail is a wonderful local trail. During the   warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Canyon Creek, and the overnight is a tad cooler of course, regularly in the 40's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 40's while Canyon Creek nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 30's. Canyon Creek is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Central Cascade Range.
