If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. On this     section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The 7 Mile Bridge to South Santiam River stretch of Canyon Creek is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. This is the only paddling section along Canyon Creek. The campgrounds here at Canyon Creek are pretty good. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: The high level of rain makes Canyon Creek a reasonably wet place; most of the rain falls during November, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Going for a hike on the Gold Hill Trail is always a nice adventure. Summertime   at Canyon Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Canyon Creek are in the 30's.
