This stretch of Champion Creek in Oregon is 1.1 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the cool fresh water beats anything. This section is very short so you'd better
be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There's camping available near Champion Creek. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The
Gorge 1 mile above Brice Creek to Brice Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Champion Creek. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: Kitten Rock is something you shouldn't miss since you're here at Champion Creek, and Champion Creek is right by the Steamboat Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Champion Creek a wet location; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest month is July. At this river
