Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Kitten Rock is something you shouldn't miss since you're here at Champion Creek, and Champion Creek is right by the Steamboat Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Champion Creek a wet location; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest month is July. Hotel Spring is a beautiful place to stop at while you're at Champion Creek, and hiking along the Mayflower Trail is brilliant fun.
