The scenic beauty of Lane County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This stretch of Christy Creek in Lane County is 9 miles long and is a class III-V(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other stretches to paddle along Christy Creek than the to Confluence with Willamette stretch. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some
kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the
rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: Christy Creek is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with lots of rain; November is the month that gets the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. The warmest time of the year brings highs in
the 80's to Christy Creek. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Christy Creek temperatures sink to the 30's. So much amusing stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range,
not enough time. If the weather is brilliant here at Christy Creek, you can go for a hike along the Dead Mountain Trail. Going for a hike along the Roosevelt Way will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and Salt Springs is a pleasant local attraction.
