  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The scenic beauty of Clackamas County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The June Creek Br. to Collawash River section of Clackamas River in Oregon is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. For all you
    camping people there are campgrounds nearby. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This is a pretty decent
length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the June Creek Br. to Collawash River stretch is just one of them.

Lots of rainfall falls at Clackamas River; during December this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is July. Man, is there a heap of entertaining stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. If the weather
 
is good here at Clackamas River, you can go for a hike along the Rhododendron Ridge Trail.
Through the summertime highs here at Clackamas River get into the 70's while nighttime lows are usually in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Clackamas River throughout the wintertime ordinarily sink into the 30's. On a tremendous day at Clackamas River you can take a hike along the Cottonwood Meadows Trail, and a journey to Clackamas River wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Austin Hot Springs.
