Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. This     is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The campgrounds here at Clackamas River are pretty good. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Clackamas River throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 70's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Clackamas River. Clackamas River sees pretty high levels of rainfall; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July is the month with the least   moisture. Yep, outdoors enjoyable things truly is abundant here in the Central Cascade Range. Near Clackamas River you find the Bagby Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and going for a hike on the Cold Spring Trail is always a brilliant adventure.
