The McIver Park to Mouth section of Clackamas River in Clackamas County is 21.8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.
The put-in location is a short drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but
if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.

of the long summer days here at Clackamas River, high temperatures usually reach the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows in the 30's for Clackamas River. Clackamas River gets a normal amount of annual rain; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is July.
