Oregon whitewater - Clear Creek, Central Cascade Range, Clackamas County Clackamas county, Oregon 211 to Redland Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     7.8 miles   The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The natural beauty of Clackamas County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise     and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Oregon 211 to Redland Road section is the only paddling section along Clear Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Clear Creek in Clackamas County is 7.8 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great. Briefly about the general area: All through the days of summer at Clear Creek temperatures are usually in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Through the winter   highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Clear Creek are in the 30's. Clear Creek is a reasonably wet place usually with a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month is July.
