The Oregon 211 to Redland Road stretch of Clear Creek in Clackamas County is 7.8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The scenic beauty of Clackamas County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind
that many runs in this state are not easy. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Clear Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Oregon 211 to Redland Road stretch is the only one. The
wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. The put-in location is a short drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, as you can see on the road map further down. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Clear Creek a wet place; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain
while July is mostly the driest month. During the warmest time of the year at Clear Creek temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Clear Creek temperatures descend to the 30's.
