The beautiful scenery of Marion County and the water flowing gracefully down Collawash River have people coming here. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
destination. The campgrounds here at Collawash River are pretty good. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Elk Lake Creek to river mile 5.5 section is one of them. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have people
coming from far and near. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip.
