The Mile 5.5 bridge to Two Rivers Picnic Area stretch of Collawash River in Marion County is 5.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The scenic beauty of Marion County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for
beginners. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Mile 5.5 bridge to Two Rivers Picnic Area section is one of them.
The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
