The put-in is not too far from Coos Bay, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Coos County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. This stretch of Coos River - South Fork in Coos County is 6.1 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one,
but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Johnson Beach to below Mile 7 Bridge section is the only paddling section along Coos River - South Fork. There's camping available near Coos River - South Fork. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend
some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great.
