The wonderful Oregon scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Copland Creek than the Second Bridge to North Umpqua section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay
the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. This stretch of Copland Creek in Douglas County is 5.7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV(V)
section. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.

ordinarily in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Copland Creek descend into the 30's. All year is a great time in the Central Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. Going for a hike along the BVD Trail will let you absorb the natural
beauty of this neighborhood, and if you want to stop by some exciting stuff, stop by Old Man Rock. Hiking along the Spring Mountain Way is delightful fun; a cool spot to take a look at is Rattlesnake Rock. Copland Creek commonly gets lots of rain; of all the months in a year
November is the one with the most rain while July is mostly the driest month. This is such a great river. Copland Creek is close to Dark Canyon which is undeniably worth taking a look at.
