Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The natural beauty of Oregon and the water flowing gracefully down Coquille River - South Fork beats anything. If you're coming from Brookings it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Great exercise and just being
out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This stretch of Coquille River - South Fork is 7.7 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip.
For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
