The starting point is not too far from Albany-Lebanon, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Linn County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This section of Crabtree Creek in Linn County is 10 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't     matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Briefly about the general area: Crabtree Creek frequently gets a large amount of rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture.   The warmest time of the year at Crabtree Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the winter the highs are generally in the 40's; nighttime lows through the winter for Crabtree Creek tend to be in the 30's.
