If you're coming from Bend it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Lone Pine Bridge to Crooked River Ranch stretch of Crooked River in Oregon is 18 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Crook / Deschutes County and the water flowing gracefully down Crooked River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to
paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit
harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag.

the least moisture. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Crooked River. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Crooked River dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Sherwood Canyon
is a glorious location to take a look at nearby, and do put some time aside to spend at Nichols Spring if you're here at Crooked River.
