The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bend, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Crook / Deschutes County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are some good stretches to paddle

You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here.
Briefly about the general area: All through the summer at Crooked River highs are
generally in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's; overnight lows in the 20's for Crooked River. If you yearn for a little side visit, try Sherwood Canyon, and a visit to Nichols Spring
will fill your soul with tremendous feelings. At Crooked River you don’t see much precipitation; the month with most of the rain is December; July is the month with the least moisture.
