If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The wonderful Oregon scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting a good workout     and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Lone Pine Bridge to Crooked River Ranch stretch is one of them. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Briefly about the general area: All through the warm days of summer at Crooked River temperatures are mostly in the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's, and   after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Crooked River dip into the 20's. Not much precipitation falls here at Crooked River; during the month of December you get the most rain around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Sherwood Canyon is a fine location to spend some time at, and a trip to Crooked River wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Nichols Spring.
