This stretch of Deschutes River in Oregon is 9 miles long and is a class I-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Bend it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Wickiup Dam to Pringle Falls section is just one of many.
The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river
where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
