The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Deschutes River in Deschutes County is 16 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that
around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a short drive from Bend, please
print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The Pringle Falls to Big River Campground stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience.
