This stretch of Deschutes River in Oregon is 16 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you're coming from Bend it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location,     if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The Pringle Falls to Big River Campground stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The campgrounds here at Deschutes River are pretty good. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Deschutes River get into the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are   generally in the 30's while Deschutes River night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Not much rainfall falls here at Deschutes River; all through December this area sees the most snow while July is mostly the driest month. Fall River Falls is a perfect local attraction.
