The wonderful Deschutes County scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in is not too far from Bend, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners.
