This stretch of Deschutes River in Deschutes County is 2.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Getting some good exercise and just hanging
out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The starting location is a short drive from Bend, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You can
pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
