This section of Deschutes River is 14.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. The scenic beauty of Deschutes County and the water flowing gracefully down Deschutes River attract people from near and far. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Great exercise
and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The campgrounds here at Deschutes River are pretty good.
The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bend, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Tumalo State Park to Cline Falls State Park section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.
