A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so better bring your camping gear along. This stretch of Deschutes River in Oregon is 44 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Deschutes River gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. Summertime   at Deschutes River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Deschutes River plunge into the 20's.
