This stretch of Drift Creek in Lincoln County is 17 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. There's camping available near Drift Creek. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. Some people prefer     whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. This is the only paddling section along Drift Creek. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Drift Creek gets a good deal of water; December is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is July. For the duration of the summer here at Drift Creek, high temperatures commonly get into the 60's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs   in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Drift Creek. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Drift Creek; Horse Creek Trail is a fine local trail.
