This stretch of Drift Creek in Lincoln County is 17 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. Not too many     hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The river winds through the Coast Ranges and you get great scenery. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The Meadow Creek to 3 miles above mouth stretch is the only paddling stretch along Drift Creek. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Drift Creek is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; July is when it's the driest. All through the long summer days at Drift Creek temperatures are frequently in the 60's, and throughout the night   it cools down to the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are typically in the 50's; nighttime lows in the 30's for Drift Creek. While you're here at Drift Creek you can take a hike along the Horse Creek Trail.
