The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The     beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Fish Hatchery to Eagle Creek Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Eagle Creek. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, as you can see on the road map further down. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The natural beauty of Clackamas County and the cool fresh water beats anything. Briefly about the general area: Eagle Creek gets a good deal of water; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month is July.   During the months of summer here at Eagle Creek, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Eagle Creek dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Central Cascade Range has to offer. The Fall is always fun to check out, and Middle Falls is a scenic location to take a look at while you're at Eagle Creek.
