The put-in is not too far from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Eagle Creek is 11 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-V+ section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The campgrounds here at Eagle Creek are pretty good. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're
all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The nature scenery of Oregon and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Eagle Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the
Fish Hatchery to Eagle Creek Road stretch is the only one. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Eagle Creek, and the overnight is a little colder of course, generally in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Eagle Creek overnight low temperatures during the
winter are in the 30's. Don't leave Eagle Creek without first paying a visit to The Fall, and a spree to Middle Falls will fill your soul with perfect feelings. And that's not all there is to do here in the Central Cascade Range. Eagle Creek regularly gets a large amount of rain; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July.
