There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so     if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Elkhorn Creek gets much water; December is when you get the most rain here while July is frequently the driest month.
