This section of Fall Creek in Lane County is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The scenic beauty of Lane County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Eugene-Springfield, as you can see on the road map further down. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Fall Creek Dam to Willamette River section is one of them. The
rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if
you make reservations in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Fall Creek a wet place; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month
with the least amount of precipitation. At Fall Creek during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Fall Creek temperatures sink to the 30's.
