The Tony Vey Meadow to Red Bridge State Park stretch of Grande Ronde River in Oregon is 17 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. The starting point is not too far from La Grande, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The campgrounds
here at Grande Ronde River are pretty good. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other
spots. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Tony Vey Meadow to Red Bridge State Park section is just one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Mountains is a great experience. The nature scenery of Union County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here.

loads but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Blue Mountains. Sheep Camp Spring is an inspiring site to go to during your stay. During the summertime here at Grande Ronde River, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down
to the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows through the winter for Grande Ronde River tend to be in the 20's. It is very dry here at Grande Ronde River generally; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other
hand is the driest. A short journey to Penny Spring is always worthwhile; there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the Hoodoo Trail.
