Oregon whitewater - Grande Ronde River, Asotin County

Asotin county, Boggan's Oasis to Snake River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-IV     27 miles
The wonderful Asotin County scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The Boggan's Oasis to Snake River section of Grande Ronde River in Oregon is 27 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. There aren’t
any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. If you're coming
from Lewiston it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
