  The Boggan's Oasis to Snake River section of Grande Ronde River is 27 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The beautiful scenery of Asotin County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. The
    starting location is a short drive from Lewiston, as you can see on the road map further down. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping
in your car. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that. There's camping available near Grande Ronde River.

Through the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Grande Ronde River. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Grande Ronde
 
River dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. It is very dried up here at Grande Ronde River mostly; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
