Oregon whitewater - Grande Ronde River, Asotin County

Asotin county, Boggan's Oasis to Snake River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-IV     27 miles
The natural beauty of Oregon and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Boggan's Oasis to Snake River section of Grande Ronde River in Oregon is 27 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number
of paddling places. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Boggan's Oasis to Snake River stretch is one of them. If you hurry you can
run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Lewiston, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
