If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Lane County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Briefly about the general area: There's no way someone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. High temperatures at Hills Creek through the summer months are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows at Hills Creek during the wintertime frequently descend into
the 30's. Don't leave Hills Creek without first going for a hike along the Gobel Creek Trail, and great hiking is available along the Kitson Ridge Trail. Hills Creek gets a lot of water; through November this area sees the most rain while July is frequently the driest month.
