This section of Hood River in Oregon is 5 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Hood River, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Hood River County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. There are plenty of other sections
    in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range
and you get great scenery. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.

site to go if you're at Hood River, and McGuire Spring is an inspiring location to check out during your stay.
At Hood River throughout the summer months highs are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while Hood River night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 30's. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is abundant here in the Central Cascade Range. If you want to hit the beach, Koberg Beach is in the neighborhood.
