Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The beauty
    of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This stretch of Hood River - West Fork in Hood River County is 6.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater.
There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The put-in is not too far from Hood River, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too.
