Oregon whitewater - Horse Creek, Central Cascade Range, Lane County

Lane county, above Separation Creek to McKenzie River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III     11 miles
The wonderful Lane County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Horse Creek is 11 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this
area has a large number of paddling places. There are no other sections to paddle along Horse Creek than the above Separation Creek to McKenzie River section. The wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your
time, so pack your camp stove. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
