The scenic beauty of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. There's camping available near Horse Creek. The above Separation Creek to McKenzie River section is the only paddling section along Horse Creek. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do     book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The beautiful Central Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Horse Creek. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; overnight lows throughout the winter for Horse Creek tend to be in the 20's. Horse Creek typically gets much precipitation;   December is the wettest month with most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month. Foley Hot Springs is always fun to check out; hiking is a popular thing to do around Horse Creek; Saddle Trail is a perfect local trail. You absolutely must like the Central Cascade Range.
